SUMMARY More than 25 years of experience in software
development, database design development, system administration, system
design and architecture. Experience spans many industries and
disciplines. Most recent experience is as a .Net Architect and developer and
Cloud Solutions Architect, primarily with AWS WORK
EXPERIENCE XCentium, Los
Angeles, CA 7/11 - present Enterprise Architect RESPONSIBILITIES · XCentium specializes custom development and cloud
deployments. As such, my responsibilities run the full range of the
software development life cycle, from requirements gathering and project
documentation and system architecture/design to significant hands on
development using any number of technologies. · Interfacing directly with clients to kick projects off · Interfacing with some off-shore components for different
projects · Research and Development for new tools, technologies and
strategies. · The primary focus has been using the Microsoft stack
(.Net, Sql Server, etc). · I’m also the primary Amazon AWS administrator and have
delved heavily into the entire AWS framework utilizing most of Amazon’s
service offerings in one form or another. · Involved in full SDLC from requirements gathering, to
system and software architecture, development, testing, maintenance,
documentation, etc. · Amazon AWS System Administrator and Solutions Architect. PROJECTS · Nerium International – Team Lead, Software Developer :
This project is a complete rewrite of the Nerium.com website. The new
site will utilize a fusion of Sitecore, Insight and Exigo.
Technologies include the standard enterprise level tools: Sql Server, Web
Services, Silo’d and layered SOA type architecture. Front end includes
Foundation CSS and Angular.js (along with a smattering of support tools like
SASS/Compass, etc). Middle Tier includes Asynchronous programming using
Microsoft MVC and Web API inside a Sitecore container with integration points
to Exigo and Insight. Back end is Sql Server, Web Services and Async
programming using Entity Framework w/Code First. Source Control is Git via
TFS. SDLC methodology is a Nerium customized version of Agile/Scrum.
Total project size is about 6 teams of 6-10 developers per team. Team members
are cross functional. Scheduled Production rollout in first part of April
2015. · Allergan (Maker of Botox) – Cloud Architect: Responsible
for planning, designing and implementing a move from legacy data centers to
the Amazon AWS Cloud platform. Included merging resources from 3
different data centers into a single AWS Cloud implementation.
Transition included moving not only the infrastructure based assets in the
data centers, but migrating from other technologies to AWS based
technologies. Examples include migrating from BigIP F5 Load Balancers to
Elastic Load Balancers and from Akamai, a content delivery network (CDN) to
CloudFront (AWS’s CDN). Involved designing the entire network, then
costing it out to show how much of a savings could be had by moving to AWS
from the other data centers. I had to work closely with Allergans
Info-Sec, Enterprise Architecture, Web Services, and other groups to ensure
the resources in the AWS environment maintained corporate and regulatory
compliance with respect to security, performance, cost and
maintainability. In addition to designing the AWS environment, I was
also instrumental (the lead resource) in migrating from the other data
centers to the new AWS environment. These tasks included creating a
High Availability solution for Sql Server on EC2 in AWS. This utilized
Microsoft’s Sql 2012 Always On solution. Standard AWS best practices
were used by separating different nodes in clusters into different
availability zones, utilizing security groups and Network Access Control
Lists (NACL, ACL) for heightened security, jump boxes and management boxes
for key management, a defined backup and restore process utilizing S3 and
Glacier that included options for Disaster Recovery. Total environment
ended up consisting of more than 50 heterogeneous servers and technologies,
numerous load balancers (ELB), Sql Server RDS instances, CloudFront, Simple
Notification Services (SNS), Simple Email Services (SES), CloudWatch,
CloudTrail (for auditing), Amazon AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), with VPN
and Customer Gateway. · Castle Payday – Payday Lending Site: Responsible for
architecture and design of an Orchard CMS based business application that
integrates with multiple Loan Management Systems (LMS) and Risk Management
Systems (RMS) to evaluate both web-based and lead-based short term, high-APR
loan applications and provide a responsive web interface to the end user to
manage the loan application and repayment process. Involved integrating
with a merchant gateway to validate debit card and bank information, as well
as numerous other web services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
design. CMS design also included a provider model to allow us to swap
out different LMS back ends. In addition to design, I was the technical
lead for a very small group of developers (2-3) and was responsible for
significant portions of software development and Orchard Customization.
We also built custom themes so that we can stand up multiple versions of the
site with the same essential functionality. http://www.castlepayday.com,
http://www.peppercash.com · Exactuals: System Architecture and Design for a
cloud (AWS) based secure residuals processing application. SOA/Service API
design. Groovy/Grails with Oracle and MySql as back end. Oracle Apps as
middle tier. Highly complex heterogeneous enterprise system utilizing
an array of secure AWS offerings. Technologies include XML and Schema
Design, Cloud Formation Template generation, provisioning AWS services (EC2,
Route 53, VPC, ACLs, AutoScaling and Load Balancing, etc). Development
and drafting of standard operating principles for the entire SDLC including
coding standards, change management policies, source code and repository
control, etc. Unix System Administration (CentOS and Amazon). Shell
Scripting, batch processing, cron. http://www.exactuals.com/ · GolfNow.com: Involved in multiple projects with numerous
technologies. Classic ASP, Visual Studio 2008-2012, Dot Net Framework
2-4.5, Web Services & SOA (including classic asmx and WCF), design
patterns, MVC3 and MVC4, Javascript & jquery. Sql Server 2008 and
2012, stored procedure development and optimization. IIS5-IIS7.5
configuration. http://www.golfnow.com,
http://reservations.teetimes.com,
other intranet based sites. Interface with 3rd party golf
inventory providers to maintain tee time inventory in near real time. Utlize
multiple 3rd party libraries and platforms (Infragistics, Telerik,
jquery, Postsharp, GeoIP, etc). · Caps Payroll: Work on custom built abstract CRM and
Accounting system. .Net 4.5, IIS 7.5, extensive Sql Server stored
procedures using SqlXml and Sql Server 2008 custom built rules engine. http://www.capspayroll.com/live/home/softwaresolutions/LAjit · Bellicose VI/Phenomenon: Lead Developer, team of 5.
Project involves maintenance, enhancements and production support of legacy
ASP.Net (VB.Net) websites, and migration plan to move them to Orchard CMS.
